Dr. Carmela Mancini
Dr. Mancini is a highly skilled physician and public health expert with a diverse background spanning direct patient care, epidemiology, and medical education. Since opening a private primary practice in 2015, her focus has been on providing personalized, comprehensive, and longitudinal care to her patients. This includes patients residing in Assisted and Independent Living Facilities (A/ILFs) and Memory Care units, where Dr. Mancini has had the opportunity to care for patients in 8 different A/ILFs and 4 memory care units.
Dr. Mancini has worked extensively with dementia patients who exhibit severe behavioral and personality changes, including aggression. Her management of these patients demonstrates her knowledge and comfort with prescribing and managing psychiatric and mood stabilizing medications. In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Mancini serves as the medical director of the Weight Loss Center of the North Shore, where she offers comprehensive services to individuals struggling with obesity. Her expertise in both primary care and weight management underscores her commitment to holistic patient wellness. Dr. Mancini's extensive experience in public health, including roles as a manager, senior epidemiologist, and epidemic intelligence service fellow, further enhances her clinical practice.
