Arthur Sitelman M.D., FCAP is a graduate of Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia,PA, received his training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse,NY and New York University Medical Center in New York,NY. As a Board Certified Anatomic and Clinical Pathologist, Dr. Sitelman has been practicing pathology for over 35 years, serving as the Medical Director of pathology laboratories in several hospitals, privately owned and operated laboratories, and clinics in the state of Arizona. He currently serves as Medical Director,Owner, and Managing Member at Integrated Pathology Services, a state-of-the-art Anatomic Pathology laboratory in Phoenix, Arizona, Medical Laboratory Director at The CORE Institute Specialty Hospital in Phoenix,Arizona, and Medical Laboratory Director of Rapid Labs in Tempe,Arizona.
Throughout his medical career, Dr. Sitelman has distinguished himself in the accurate diagnosis of challenging cases in all subspecialty areas of pathology, with a special emphasis on Breast, Gynecology, Head & Neck (ENT),Dermatopathlogy, Podiatry, and Non-Gyn Cytopathology, particularly Fine Needle Aspiration. His exceptional pathology work in the subspecialty area of Breast was recognized by the College of American Pathologists, where Dr. Sitelman earned an Advanced Certification of Recognition in Breast Predictive Factors. Dr. Sitelman has accurately diagnosed over 30,000 cases of benign and malignant breast disease.
Dr. Sitelman’s acumen and passion for Pathology translates effortlessly when he collaborates with consulting treating physicians and surgeons, radiologists, and medical and radiation oncologists to achieve the singular goal of optimal patient diagnosis,therapy, prognosis, and management of care. He believes in the importance of personal communication with treating physicians and the importance of next day diagnosis as a factor in helping reduce patient anxiety and enabling patients to make timely, educated choices about treatment options.
His breadth and depth of pathology experience have earned him a national reputation, making him a well sought after medical-legal expert for complex medical legal cases. Dr. Sitelman’s friendly manner, sense of humor, excellent communication skills and vast pathology experience continues to make his collaborations with pathologist colleagues, treating physicians, radiologists, surgeons, medical and radiation oncologists,podiatrists, and others a beneficial and positive experience.
Dr. Sitelman’s consulting team for rare,challenging, and ambiguous cases consists of such world-renowned pathologists as Jonathan Epstein, M.D. of Johns Hopkins Medical Center and Robert Young, M.D. of Harvard Medical School, as well as other top pathologists at world-renowned academic centers.
Between 1987-2004, Dr. Sitelman spearheaded Tumor Board conferences in three Arizona Hospitals, projecting images of cases and educating medical and surgical specialists on issues pertaining to diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis. His CME activities include participation in the College of American Pathologists Surgical Pathology and Non-Gynecological Cytopathology Proficiency Improvement Programs, and numerous national conferences sponsored by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists, College of American Pathologists, US/Canadian Association of Pathologists, and California Society of Pathologists.
Dr. Sitelman's medical/legal experience of over 30 years for both defendants and paintiffs includes about 775 consultations,130 deposition testimonies, and 25 trial testimonies.
