Dr. Christopher G. Robertson
Dr. Chris Robertson is a materials scientist and engineer with 24 years of experience in the tire, synthetic rubber/elastomers, rubber chemicals, and plastics industries. He has a diverse background in materials chemistry and failure behavior for a wide range of applications of polymer materials (especially elastomers and rubber compounds) that include automobile tires, hoses, seals, anti-vibration systems, roofing membranes, tank lining membranes, conductive elastomer interconnects, and other products. His recent expert witness activities include: intellectual property case involving liquid silicone rubber components of medical devices; product warranty/liability case involving ethylene-propylene-diene rubber (EPDM) ground rubber infill granules used in artificial turf for athletic fields. He is experienced in diverse areas of elastomer/rubber technologies, such as: 6PPD in tires; compound formulation and processing effects on rubber product lifetime / durability; liquid silicone rubber in medical products and electronics applications; carbon black, silica-silane, and other reinforcing filler technologies; antioxidants, antiozonants, and other stabilizers; and other areas.
