With over 25 years of clinical practice in emergency medicine and directly treating over 100,000 patients, I bring a wealth of experience and a mission to improve patient outcomes. Board Certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and certified in ACLS, PALS, and BLS, and, my extensive experience includes managing all emergency medical conditions, trauma, and patients of all ages and socioeconomic and demographic backgrounds.
I have worked in high volume, high acuity settings and critical access facilities, gaining a deep understanding of the challenges faced in multiple working environments. My journey from Graphic Design to Emergency Medicine reflects a passion for the human body and a dedication to physical fitness and wellness. As an athlete turned fitness trainer, I transitioned to medical school at the University of Pittsburgh and completed my residency at Henry Ford Hospital.
Since 1999, I have practiced Emergency Medicine in various locations, including a stint as a Navy Emergency Physician in Okinawa, Japan. After a brief stay at a leading Level I academic institution, I have since focused on community medicine. I am currently a Senior Partner with my current group and have been so for seventeen years. I spent three years at my current primary work site as Director of Quality Improvement for the Department of Emergency Medicine reviewing cases for peer review with the department and hospital Peer Review Committee. My experience extends to teaching, quality improvement, and hands-on patient care, providing a solid foundation for sound emergency medical practice.
