Introduction

Jane Hickerson, PhD, LCSW, served on the faculty at the University of Texas at Arlington for over 30 years. In the School of Social Work, she taught courses in intervention with mental health clients and in human development and behavior. Ultimately, she served as Assistant Dean of Field Education. She has over 25 years of experience in social work practice.

Since her retirement from the University of Texas at Arlington, she continues her private practice in counseling and consulting in child sexual abuse.

Dr. Hickerson has been a Forensic Expert with Park Dietz & Associates since 2018. She specializes in contemporaneous “standard of care” for cases involving schools, social service programs, and cases involving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or physical challenges.

Dr. Hickerson served on the faculty at the University of Texas at Arlington for over 30 years. In the School of Social Work, she taught courses in intervention with mental health clients and in human development and behavior, research, and child development.

As Vice President of Training and Development at Praesidium, she conducted numerous trainings on abuse risk management at organizations throughout the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. In addition, she served as project manager for the assessment of over 100 system-wide social work and other child-serving and vulnerable-adult programs in organizations throughout the United States and beyond.
