Introduction

Joan R. Rycraft, PhD is a Professor Emerita at the University of Texas at Arlington, School of Social Work (UTA-SSW), and former Associate Dean and Director of the PhD program. She has also been named a Distinguished Fellow in Adoption and Child Welfare by the National Council for Adoption. Dr. Rycraft worked as a Social Worker for over 20 years in Merced, Mendocino, and Shasta Counties. She continues to serve children, youth, and families by serving on the Jackson County Citizen’s Review Board in Medford, Oregon.

Since 2011, she has been offering forensic case analysis on standards of care and reports, consultation, and testimony regarding child welfare on behalf of clients of Park Dietz & Associates.
