Introduction

Dr. Joseph Muniak is a board-certified Occupational Therapist (OTR) and hospital administrator with expertise in the continuum of care provided to patients in the acute hospital, inpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing facility, long term acute care hospital, outpatient rehabilitation, and home health care environments. Dr. Muniak is certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, and he is a Certified Brain Injury Specialist.

As an expert at Robson Forensic, Dr. Muniak applies his expertise to forensic casework involving patient falls, patient transport injuries, and other negative health outcomes associated with the care or supervision provided within the health care system. He also maintains an active clinical practice as a home care occupational therapist and adjunct professor. His home care caseload spans patients rehabilitating from acquired or congenital conditions including workplace, hospital, facility based or other incident related injuries.

In 2008, Dr. Muniak opened the Acute Rehab, Brain Injury Recovery Center at Penn Medicine Rittenhouse, ultimately serving as the Director of Inpatient Therapy. As a hospital administrator, Dr. Muniak worked closely with the interdisciplinary team to develop facility policies and procedures, staff training protocols, and was heavily involved in leading the facility through the operational challenges presented by COVID-19.

Dr. Muniak earned his Doctorate of Occupational Therapy as well as his B.S. and M.S. in Occupational Therapy from Thomas Jefferson University. He also holds a B.A. in Psychology from Villanova University.
