Ms. Skillin is a nationally Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) and Certified Vocational Evaluator Specialist (CVE). She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Vocational Experts (ABVE/D) and holds the International Psychometric Evaluation Certification (IPEC). Ms. Skillin is a Licensed Rehabilitation Counselor (LRC) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and a Qualified Rehabilitation Counselor (QRC) in the State of Rhode Island. As part of her graduate coursework, Ms. Skillin received additional specialized training, in the administration, scoring and interpretation of more sophisticated tests, including the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale and the Wechsler Memory Scale, among others.
As a vocational consultant and expert witness, Ms. Skillin evaluates the employability, wage earnings capacity, potential vocational rehabilitation needs, and job search diligence for both the plaintiff and defendant bar. For nearly 30 years Ms. Skillin has been qualified as a vocational expert in State and Federal courts. Ms. Skillin is highly experienced in performing employability evaluations in personal injury, divorce/family law, employment law, and workers' compensation matters. Ms. Skillin is available to perform records reviews, in-person and virtual vocational evaluations.
For more than 30 years, Ms. Skillin has worked as a vocational consultant and expert witness. With a strong foundation in vocational case management, returning injured workers to the workforce and evaluating the vocational needs of veterans, Ms. Skillin has the clinical experience to drawn upon in formulating her opinions and testifying. Ms. Skillin was also the Return to Work Manager at a large hospital where she developed ADA job descriptions, and worked with senior leadership to create and implement a system-wide return to work program to ensure injured employees were provided suitable employment within the organization. Ms. Skillin has also served an adjunct professor; teaching graduate level rehabilitation counseling courses. Ms. Skillin has been an active member of the International Association of Rehabilitation Professions (IARP) professional organization and has held several board positions in the past including President of the New England Chapter.
Presently with Medical and Life Care Consulting, a full service life care planning and vocational consulting firm, Ms. Skillin also creates vocational life care plans to address the future work related needs of plaintiffs.
