Kevin Nowrangi, MD, is a board-certified psychiatrist with sub-specialized training in child and adolescent psychiatry as well as forensic psychiatry. Dr. Nowrangi has many years of experience assessing and treating a range of psychiatric disorders in children, adolescents, and adults.
Dr. Nowrangi serves as an authorized panelist in Los Angeles County and Sonoma County Superior Courts to evaluate all issues arising in criminal cases. His role as a Screening Committee Member for the Dorothy Kirby Center—Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health and Los Angeles County Probation Department—involves reviewing screenings for adjudicated youth to identify those with complex mental health needs requiring treatment prior to their release into the community. This critical function ensures that vulnerable youth receive the necessary support and interventions to facilitate their rehabilitation and successful reintegration into society. Dr. Nowrangi played a pivotal role in the implementation of Senate Bill 823 – DJJ Realignment at the Barry J. Nidorf Secure Youth Treatment Facility as the Lead Consultant for the Los Angeles County Probation Department in 2023.
Dr. Nowrangi conducts evaluations for lawyers and courts in medical-legal and psychiatric cases and has served as an expert in both civil and criminal cases. As a child and adolescent forensic psychiatrist, he has expertise in additional areas of child development, trauma, behavioral disorders, custody, and more.
Dr. Nowrangi has been providing expert consulting, reports, and testimony on behalf of clients of Park Dietz & Associates since 2022.
