Mark Respass is a Commercial Trucking Expert with nearly 40 years of diverse experience as a driver, fleet safety director, and transportation risk manager for Zurich NA. Mark has held a Class A CDL since 1992, and has held nearly all CDL endorsements including Doubles/Triples, Tankers, and HazMat. As an expert at Robson Forensic, Mark provides expert witness investigations for commercial and personal injury litigation involving all aspects of commercial trucking, warehousing/distribution operations, and FMCSR, OSHA, and EPA regulatory compliance.

As a driver, Mark covered approximately 1 million accident and citation-free miles transporting and loading/unloading a variety of different commodities. Mark moved up to a Fleet Safety Manager role for a food distribution company before taking a position in the insurance industry as a risk engineer. His time in the insurance industry has given Mark a unique perspective on the relationship between trucking and insurance companies, and the policies and procedures of many regional and national trucking outfits.

Mark’s time in the insurance industry led him to a long career as a Director of Safety for several large motor carriers. He was responsible for all aspects of fleet safety and regulatory compliance including FMCSR, OSHA, and EPA, oversight of hours-of-service, electronic logs, DOT drug/alcohol testing programs, accident investigations, CDL driver hiring, qualification, selection, and training. Mark has served on multiple Safety Management Councils with the American Trucking Association (ATA), Colorado Motor Carrier Association (CMCA), and The North American Transportation Management Institute (NATMI).
