Dr. Paletta is a palliative care and hospice medicine expert of 30 years experience, with additional training and certification in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics. Served as medical expert for both defense and plaintiff in nursing home, assisted living, hospice, and pain management disputes.
Ten years of geriatrics practice preceded 25 years in palliative medicine & hospice, most recently as Chief Medical Officer for an independent not-for-profit provider with ADC of 1200 patients. Certifications include Internal Medicine and Hospice/Palliative medicine, with added qualification in Geriatrics. Dr. Paletta was elected Fellow of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine, and serves as a faculty member in palliative care and veterans' health at Wayne State University. Interested in issues around hospice eligibility, quality & compliance, palliative practice standards and pain/symptom management.
Dr. Paletta is also a veteran with a military aviation rating and combat theatre command experience. He teaches and lectures nationally on veterans' health issues and veterans' end-of-life challenges.
