Dr. Naren T. Vellanki, MD
Dr. Naren Vellanki is a double board certified psychiatrist who has board certification in general psychiatry as well as child and adolescent psychiatry. He is currently working as an inpatient psychiatrist in Orlando, FL. Dr. Vellanki treat's both children and adults who are admitted to the psychiatric unit either on a voluntary or involuntary basis. He provides diagnosis and treatment for patients suffering from severe mental illness such as Schizophrenia, Bipolar disorder, Major depressive disorder, Autism spectrum disorder, Disruptive mood dysregulation disorder and generalized anxiety disorder.
In addition, Dr. Vellanki is a court appointed psychiatrist for Orange county in Florida. He performs evaluations for both juveniles and adults in the criminal justice system to determine if a defendant is competent to stand trial.
Educational background: Dr. Vellanki obtained his bachelor’s degree in finance at the Ohio State University in 2011. He completed his masters degree in biomedical science and doctorate of medicine degree (M.D) at University of Toledo in 2012 and 2016 respectively. He then completed his residency and fellowship in general psychiatry and pediatric psychiatry at University of Louisville in 2019 and 2021 respectively. He has over eight years of experience as a psychiatrist and is licensed to practice in Kentucky and Florida.
