Nina E. Ross, MD, is a forensic and reproductive psychiatrist. As a forensic psychiatrist, she specializes in the interface between psychiatry and the law which includes the legal regulation of psychiatry and risk assessment of psychiatric decisions. Dr. Ross has medical licenses in Ohio, Michigan, and New Jersey. As a reproductive psychiatrist, she specializes in women with psychiatric needs during times of hormonal change.
Dr. Ross provides several services within the realm of forensic psychiatry, including both criminal and civil issues, as well as those related to gender issues within forensic psychiatry.

Dr. Ross received a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology at Yale University and her Medical degree from New York Medical College. She then completed her psychiatric training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center’s Western Psychiatric Hospital and her forensic psychiatry training at Case Western Reserve University. She has also received additional training in reproductive psychiatry and specializes in women’s mental health needs in the pregnancy and postpartum period.
Dr. Ross is a dedicated medical educator. She has held faculty appointments at the rank of Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and in these roles has been very involved in trainee supervision and education. She served as Chief Resident for Education in residency and has received multiple teaching awards, including the faculty of the year award and the PGY-4 teaching award from the Case Western Reserve University psychiatry fellowship and the Western Psychiatric Hospital Outstanding Adult Psychiatry Resident Teaching Award. Her interest in teaching lends itself well to forensic psychiatry, allowing her to communicate forensic findings to non-medical audiences clearly. She is involved with the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law, where she currently serves as the co-Chair of Gender Issues committee and the Early Career Councilor-Elect.
Dr. Ross has been a Forensic Expert with Park Dietz & Associates since 2024.
