Introduction

Patricia Gleason-Wynn, PhD, LCSW, CSW-G, BSN, RN-BC has over 40 years of experience working with older adults and caregivers in various settings including hospitals, nursing homes, palliative care, geriatric outpatient clinics, and hospices. She has been in private practice focusing on mental health and care management for older adults and caregivers. She works closely with elder law attorneys and probate court judges to conduct comprehensive mental, functional, and psychosocial assessments of clients and proposed wards to provide recommendations for their care.

Dr. Gleason-Wynn is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a PhD in Social Work, and a Certified Gerontological Social Worker. She taught social work at Texas State University where she was the Director of the BSW Program Work and an Assistant Professor, at Baylor University as a full-time lecturer, and at The University of Texas at Arlington as a Clinical Professor in Practice. She is also a Registered Nurse and Board Certified in Gerontology. She worked at Texas Health Resources (hospital) for several years as a registered nurse and a clinical social worker.

Dr. Gleason-Wynn is a long-standing member of the National Association of Social Workers in which she has held numerous leadership positions. She is the Secretary, and a third-term legislator, in the Texas Silver-Haired Legislature where she interacts with State Legislators advocating for laws and policies benefitting older Texans. Dr. Gleason-Wynn is a published author in social work and gerontological literature.
