R. Scott has been with DJS Associates, Inc., since 1999 and specializes in the mechanical aspects of automobiles, small trucks, commercial trucks and other vehicles. With over 35 years of experience in automotive and mechanical engineering, R. Scott’s areas of expertise include Mechanical Inspections of Passenger Cars and Trucks, Commercial Trucks and Trailers, Motorcycles and Wheeled Recreational Equipment, and Airport Ground Support Equipment including Cargo Tugs, Towed Vehicles, and Related Equipment.
R. Scott is able to retrieve and analyze Passenger Vehicle Event Data, Heavy Vehicle Event Data, and Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) Data. His hands-on vehicular repair experience and training, technical education, and mechanical design experience help him to evaluate mechanical failures, design and manufacturing defects, vehicle safety standards, and vehicular systems including airbags, electric, and hydraulic braking systems.
R. Scott has given many presentations throughout the United States regarding his research and experience on evolving automotive technology and its impact on the consumer, legal, insurance, and government entities. His published works have included topics such as Black Box Technology and its involvement in Collision Reconstruction, as well as the Past, Present and Future of the Event Data Recorder.
