Mr. Shema is a certified consulting meteorologist with experience in marine weather related accidents, cargo loss, and personal injury. He works internationally and particularly in Hawaii, Alaska, California and Pacific Northwest. His 24 year service in the U.S. Navy at sea and as a Navy meteorologist makes him uniquely qualified to provide expert testimony. Since retiring from the military service, he has worked in the private sector with attorneys, marine engineers, and surveyors. Although Mr. Shema's primary focus is in the Pacific Ocean, he has experience in all major ocean basins and inland lakes.
Mr. Shema has investigated over 200 domestic and international accidents, and has over 3500 hours in case preparation. He uses scientific methodologies to analyze data to understand complex atmospheric and physical oceanographic processes. Mr. Shema has an uncanny ability to describe these processes in easily understandable descriptions through written, verbal, and demonstrations that accurately depict weather and oceanographic events.
