Introduction

Trusted By 32 of the Top 100 Insurance Law Firms (see list of 32 Top Law Firms below)

I have 35 years both as an underwriter and insurance broker in property-casualty insurance, captive formation and management, management liability, employee benefits, and cyber liability. I have been engaged as a consultant and expert witness over 100 times, including 40 depositions and 12 trials.

The combination of my research skills, writing aptitude, verbal acuity, intellectual curiosity, and business acumen reveals itself most clearly in complex litigation as is often required by Federal Cases. (See the published piece on Federal Rule 26 in the articles below)

I built the 5th largest insurance brokerage in California and sold it to Aon where I managed a national unit advising 20 different industry practice areas. I also have founded six insurance technology firms. I have been president and board member of two publically held property casualty underwriters.

My major at Claremont McKenna College was business and economics, and I completed the Harvard Business School’s owner/president management program. I earned the industry's prestigious CPCU designation early in my career and have been licensed in all insurance brokerage categories in 50 states. (see my current educational credentials in the Articles section below.)
