Dr. Roy Artal is an experienced medical-legal expert witness with 20 plus years of experience representing both plaintiff and defense. A multi board-certified pulmonologist, sleep medicine specialist, internist, and critical care trained physician, Dr. Artal received his undergraduate degree with honors from the University of Southern California, medical degree from the University of California Los Angeles, Internal Medicine Residency training at Cedars Sinai Medical Center, and Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine training at the Cedars Sinai-UCLA-VA Combined Fellowship Program. He is Board Certified in Pulmonary Diseases, Sleep Medicine, and Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
In addition to his academic training, Dr. Artal is a former Clinical Instructor of Medicine at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine, the Medical Director of an American Academy of Sleep Medicine accredited sleep disorders center, a member of the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Women's Guild Lung Institute Center of Excellence, a Fellow of both the American College of Chest Physicians and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, and a clinical trials principle investigator. Dr. Artal has been in full-time clinical practice in Southern California since 2001, with expertise in pulmonary and critical care medicine, sleep medicine, internal medicine, and hospitalist medicine.
Dr. Artal is an experienced expert witness, having reviewed close to 100 cases, has been deposed approximately 20 times, is an experienced medical-legal report author, and is known for thoroughness and attention to detail.
