Mr. Mark I Montrose
Santa Clara, CA 95051
Office: 408-499-5533
Mark Montrose specializes in Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) plus Electromagnetic Interference (EMI). This includes system level design for both domestic and international regulatory requirements with nearly 45 years of applied experience. Areas of professional expertise includes design of printed circuit boards as well as system integration for commercial, industrial, scientific, medical, information technology in addition to industrial products regardless of application or environment of use. Mark's aproach is based on the fundamentals of applied engineering associated with electromagnetic physics.
Everything electrical exists based on electromagnetic field propagation (radio signals) that can either cause harmful disruption to other electrical devices. In addition, systems must be immune to any external electromagnetic threats from causing system failure; (example-turn your phone off during takeoff and landing). Professional expertise is associated with helping clients understand the physics of component and system level operation in a made simple manner. All areas of electrical engineering design analysis is also provided, as well as complex patent infringement matters.
Expert witness engagements have sucessfully occurred in patent research and application applied to real-world engineering problems. Engagements includes Fortune 500 clients . Mark was an instructor for the University of California as well as other international training organizations. He authored five popular textbooks related to system level design to achieve EMC, especially at the printed circuit board and system level with 11 international translation. "EMC Made Simple" is his registered trademark. He performs expert witness work in a manner that is clear and easy to understand by attorneys and juries.
Mark Montrose is a long-term past member of the IEEE EMC Society Board of Directors and past member of the IEEE Board of Directors as a Division VI Director (2009-2010). He is a frequently invited speaker internationally at EMC conferences presenting research on sophisticated engineering designs concerns and issues as well as design matters.
In addition to expertise in engineering design and analysis for EMC and system level design, he is assessed to ISO/IEC 17025 as an EMC test laboratory for in situ (on-site) test and certification of industrial products to achieve legally mandated regulatory requirements worldwide.
