Introduction

Dr. Ryan N. Reed is a licensed clinical psychologist with extensive expertise in military psychology, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), forensic evaluations, and human performance optimization. With over a decade of experience in clinical and military psychology, he is a recognized authority in psychological assessment, mental health treatment, and performance enhancement strategies.

Dr. Reed earned his doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of South Dakota, where his research focused on post-traumatic stress and the psychological effects of trauma, as well as factors impacting self-control and decision-making​. He completed his APA-accredited Clinical Psychology Internship and follow-on training at the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth and Naval Medical Center San Diego, gaining specialized experience in military mental health​.

A decorated military psychologist, Dr. Reed served over nine years as an Active Duty Navy psychologist, holding critical roles such as a Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape (SERE) Psychologist, an Operational Stress Control and Readiness (OSCAR) Psychologist for 1st Marine Division, and an Advanced Warrior Toughness Training Performance Psychologist​. In these positions, he provided fitness-for-duty evaluations, pre/post-deployment assessments, and mental toughness training for military personnel. His expertise extends to forensic psychology, with specialized experience in evaluating PTSD, anxiety disorders, cognitive-behavioral conditions, and performance-related mental health issues​.

Dr. Reed is also a published researcher and educator, with contributions to scientific literature on self-control, telehealth, substance use, and resilience​. He has authored book chapters on military psychology and behavioral health in high-stress environments and has presented at national conferences on mindfulness, performance enhancement, workplace safety, and trauma recovery​.

Currently, Dr. Reed provides forensic psychological assessments and expert witness services in workers' compensation, personal injury, PTSD-related claims, and fitness-for-duty evaluations. He is available for case review, expert reports, independent medical evaluations, depositions, trial testimony, and forensic fitness-for-duty assessments.
